If your child is passionate about a sport and excels at it, enrolling them in a high school Sport-Études program could be an option. 

The main advantage is that the student-athlete benefits from a flexible schedule allowing him/her to follow his academic courses as well as his high-level training. 

To be able to register in a Sport-Études program, the student must have  good academic grades and a sports federation partner of the school must recognize their abilities.

In Montreal, there are seven secondary schools, public and private, offering a Sport-Études program recognized by the Quebec government. Some of these schools offer their sports-studies program in more than 20 sports disciplines including basketball.

College Reine-Marie is a private high school located in the east of Montreal. Some schools may also offer sports concentration programs at primary and secondary levels, but these programs are not recognized by the government.
